What happens is not as important as how you react to what happens.

Regulars to this blog have seen it before. If you return about this time next year, you'll likely see it again. It's my annual tribute to a beloved and departed friend, Markiz.

Three years ago today, we buried my 18 year old Arab gelding, Markiz. As my grandson, Kendall and I placed a bouquet of flowers on his grave following his burial, I had a sense that our friend Markiz was with us, saying his goodbyes too.

We still miss you, Markiz.
